A half flight of stairs leads up to a bonus room that makes an ideal office, sitting room, or guest bedroom. Another flight of stairs leads up to the fabulous mezzanine master suite featuring a large bedroom with high ceiling and clerestory windows, a walk-in closet, and a stunning Euro-styled private bath with wet room (completely tiled room with tub and separate shower) and a granite-topped, designer vanity. Amenities include off-street parking and a huge rooftop terrace with patio furniture and gas grills. This building is very convenient to two MARTA rail stations (Inman Park & King Memorial) and has direct access to the historic Inman Park Trolley Barn. Visit the Marble Lofts web site for more information or contact listing agent for floorplans and features of available units.

Inman Park was developed at the end of the 19th century as Atlanta's first garden suburb and was home to some of the city's most influential families at the turn of the last century. It features many of the city's finest examples of Victorian architecture. Since the 1970s, the neighborhood has experienced a renaissance and it has become one of the city's most sought after intown neighborhoods. [Inman Park history.] Adjacent to the Inman Park neighborhood, there are several nearby business districts, including Little Five Points, Candler Park, and many shops along North Highland and Ponce de Leon.

This part of town has been undergoing a tremendous amount of growth since the mid-1990s, spurred on by development around City Hall East (on North Avenue); Studioplex (on Auburn Avenue); and lots of development (residential and commercial) on Highland Avenue including the new Inman Park Village mixed use development, which features 20,000 sq. ft. of street-friendly retail and restaurants. There are new shops and restaurants along Edgewood (including the hugely popular Thumbs Up Cafe just a few blocks away) with more new projects both underway and proposed. Nearby City Hall East (originally the Sears, Roebuck building) is also about to be redeveloped into a major new multi-use development known as Ponce Park. This location is also convenient to the Edgewood Retail District, which opened in 2005 with 500,000 sq. ft. of retail space including major national chains such as: Best Buy, Lowe's, Office Depot, Barnes & Noble, Kroger, and Target.

Both the Inman Park and King Memorial MARTA rail stations are just a few blocks away, and Skyline at Edgewood is just one block from the proposed Beltline that will link intown neighborhoods with a trolley system and add a number of new parks. There are many existing parks in this area as well, including: Freedom Park and The Path (intown's wonderful multi-use urban trail, which is used by runners, walkers, skaters, and others); Springvale Park; Candler Park (with a public executive length Golf Course, swimming pool, sports fields, and new playground); Goldsboro Park (with tennis and basketball courts); and the Charlie Yates public golf course (adjacent to the East Lake Golf Club -- home of the PGA Tour Championship). Piedmont Park, Atlanta's largest park and the home to many festivals and arts events is about 2 miles north of here, and Grant Park (home to Zoo Atlanta) is just about one mile south. Private facilities in the area include the Druid Hills Golf Club and the Inman Park Pool. This location is also convenient to the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic District. [More info.]
